For many years I asked myself, "Besides being the best wife and mother I can be, what is my calling in life?"...
The first time I heard about doulas, I just knew, becoming one was the right path for me.
I finally earned my DONA certification after 2 years of diligent work towards my goal as a certified labor and birth doula in the Tidewater/Hampton Roads area
I am committed to supporting women in their choices for childbirth. I have experience with high risk pregnancy, home, water, birth center (adjacent to hospital), and hospital birth.
It is and honor and a privilege to be working with so many wonderful women and their families. I fully enjoy empowering women through their childbirth experience.
My goal is to listen to families and show respect for their culture, ideas and customs.
I am an active member of DONA International(the oldest, largest and most respected doula association in the world.), CAPPA (Childbirth and Postpartum Professional Association), Birth Matters Tidewater(providing education, support and resources), On the leadership board for Birth Matters Tidewater/Virginia, Partners in Birth (PIB) a local group of child birth professionals/peer group, and ICAN (International Cesarean Awareness Network) of Hampton Roads. Recently became certified in Hypnobabies as a Hypnobabies doula.
I am currently working on my childbirth educators’ certification through CAPPA.
I know I am living a life full of purpose!
